Wow. 2013 is coming to an end. Time has flown by! With the end of the year, I begin to start thinking of what I want to focus on in the new year. Most of you have heard of Ali Edwards 'One Little Word' before, right? You pick a word and truly focus on it for the next 365 days. You live it. You meditate on it. You see where your word takes you.
This past year I chose the word 'anchor' to focus on. You can read about why I chose anchor, here. This past year I truly believe I embraced my word and lived it out. Heck, I even got it tattooed on my ankle. I am a changed person after a year-long concentration of anchoring myself.
My word for 2012 was downsize - as in lose weight and clear the clutter from my life. That year, I lost 20 pounds through sweat and less cookies. ;)
This year's word is one that chose me. My word has been popping up in various ways in my life over the last couple of weeks. In fact, I *thought* I knew what word I was going to choose but it just didn't sit right with me. My new word? I am not sure where it is going to lead me, but I know this is the right word for me.
My word for 2014 is…...
I am not sure where my word will lead me - but the Bible verse that I was reading when the word came to me was 2 Corinthians 4:6, which says:
6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,”[a] made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.
Yes, in 2014 I want to let my light shine.
So, whats your word for 2014? How did you pick your word?
What a great, strong word! Best wishes with where your word takes you in the coming year! My word is pause. :)
ReplyDeleteAmen! Shine!!!
ReplyDeleteI love this word! I'll have to be thinking of mine.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good choice!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I love that you choose a word and don't know where it'll take you. That is so cool.
ReplyDeleteI just wrote about mine today, too :)

Mine was chosen from very specific goals and habits I want to work on - that's just how my brain works :)
This year my whole family chose a word for us as a group, which I posted about today: http://ajbsandme.wordpress.com/2013/12/29/december-29-2013-one-little-word-for-the-family/
ReplyDeleteI have also selected a personal word, which I will post about in the next couple of days, and it is Initiative.
